This privacy policy explains how Avora (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information about you when you use avoraguide.com or the Avora application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Avora (“the controller”). For data requests or privacy questions, contact us at privacy@avoraguide.com.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and authentication details.
- Guide content: the information you choose to put into your guide. This is encrypted at rest.
- Trusted contact details: the name and contact method of the person you nominate.
- Technical data: device, browser, IP address, and basic usage data needed to operate the service securely.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and secure the Avora service.
- To verify trusted-contact access requests.
- To send essential service emails (account, security).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not train AI models on it.
4. Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of (a) the contract you enter into when you create an account, (b) your consent for optional features such as marketing emails, and (c) our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we delete your guide and personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep certain records.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Request a portable export of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

7. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on infrastructure based in the UK and the EU. Where data is transferred outside of these regions, we use appropriate safeguards as required by UK GDPR.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. We do not use third‑party advertising cookies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will always show the latest version.
